Cursor Crypt
Cursor Crypt is a horror-themed action-puzzle game in which the player is a computer mouse cursor. The goal is to “remove bloatware”, defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and restore glitched out elements of the game like graphics, music, and sound effects.
It is a Game Boy-style game made for GBJam 11. Development started on 15.09.2023. It missed the deadline, but it was submitted to the jam’s “Failed to Upload?” forum post.
GBJAM 11 VERSION NOTES
The GB Jam 11 version is very much an incomplete game. There is no win state, the boulders cannot move, the Bloatie enemies do not move or have collision, the B button has no functionality, going up and down stairs might be buggy, and you could get stuck on walls.
If you’ve noticed that the title theme music is, let’s just say, tonally different from the aesthetic of the game, that’s because the title music was made earlier in development when the game had a “horror turned to wonder” theme going rather than just “horror”. The file was still named “BGM Title Theme.ogg” late into development, so the devs must have thought that should still have been the music used for the title screen.

Hey maple! I really like this game name, though it doesn't work on my browser. If you would like to know a good way to improve your game page, you could try taking a screenshot, blurring it, then using it for the background--just a nice way of adding to it that isn't too complex!
I was not the person who programmed the game, I just did the music, and I don't know how to use Unity, so I can't really update the game myself. The game isn't being worked on anymore to my knowledge, so unfortunately it will be download only for the foreseeable future.
I'll consider that BG art tip for the next game, tho! Thank you! :)
Oh, no problem! I enjoy giving feedback and helping people strongly!
It's appreciated! Thank you :)

I'll play yours! There's too many good games to keep track of in this thing.
Speaking of, since I said I would... @Maplewood Street - my official rating on Cursor Crypt:
Gameplay - 2 (Good concept but is too short and lacks too many things. Also, bugs.)
Graphics - 3 (The detailed sprite art is great! But some of it seems a bit half-hearted, the lack of an "upstairs" sprite confused me, and there's a visual bug that makes it impossible to tell where two of the walls in the fire trap room are.)
Soundtrack - 4 (I love the music, definitely the highlight of this! I'm only docking a point because I cannot get over the admittedly hilarious mismatch between the happily innocent title music and the melting ghoul face on-screen.)
Gameboy Soul - 4 (Can definitely see this on a real gameboy! Gets a point docked for the main menu, as the fonts there don't follow the gameboy aesthetic.) Secondary
Theme - 1 (Was the theme "clearing space" maybe? It feels a bit too vague...)
Comments: I prefer to play games blind, but in this case I didn't even make it past the splash screen before having to look up the controls. The concept itself is fine, but I again had to look up what to do and the level feels like a placeholder more than anything - I'm guessing that Bloaties were never added, because the B button didn't work on anything in the game. Once I got the three items to their positions, is anything more meant to happen? I second-guessed myself so much I played it three times with the same result... Also, there's a bug where once you let go of an item, you can grab it again despite not being anywhere close to it, which I used to bypass the thorny bush-type obstacle entirely.
